I was able to spend most of Friday afternoon by myself out on the beach (ahhhhh, so nice) before the girls and rain joined for the weekend. Although we were bummed about the bad weather, we were so happy to be together!! We planned most of our time around eating at the Bento Box and Two Guys. :) We went spent both nights out at the beach bars with some great friends...and a great day of shopping on Saturday!

Hellllllo Two Guys :) I think it took us 5.6 second to eat our food here. This will be the place we will always go to when back in Wilmington.
It's so nice to know these friends are going to be in my life forever!! We were happy we didn't have to say a "real" goodbye to each other because two weeks from Wilmington, we were all going to be together in DC!
So, fast forward two weeks...and here we are in Mel, Lori, and Christine's town: DC!! This was, yet another, wonderful weekend with the ladies. We had just about everyone, but missing a few important people. Liz and Kelly got there a day early, and then Katie and I joined the fun Friday night. We spent all of Saturday monument-seeing. Fritz was nice enough to join us for the day...and even took some GREAT pictures with his professional camera. :) (Thanks Fritz!!) Saturday night, Lori made her infamous white chili for 16 people! We ate, drank, and we were merry :) Everyone loved the chili, of course, and we finished off with a game of catch phrase. Then...a night on the town! Sunday was just as great as Saturday. We went to Eastern Market, an outdoor shopping area, for the day. Eastern Market is a great place, filled with anything from furniture to paintings...jewelry to fresh meat and fish. Our first stop here was the famous crepe stand. Wow, it sure was yummy. Thanks to the locals for recommending this to us outsiders. ;)

Here I am with my homeboy, Abe. One of my favorite facts about this monument is: the man who build this monument also built the Thomas Gallaudet statue at Gallaudet University. It is very subtle, but Lincoln's hands are in the ASL shapes of his initials, A and L. The artist wanted to show his support of the Deaf community and showed it through this movement. :)

Yet another great weekend! We don't know when we will see each other next, but we know it will be wonderful! I love my friends...and don't know where I would be without them!
The weekend after DC, I drove over to Indiana to join my mom, dad, Jacob, and our longtime friends, the Carey's, for a Notre Dame/USC football game. WOW! I've always gone to NC State games, but never experienced football like Notra Dame football! As awesome as the game was, it was even better I was able to see my parents and one of my brothers for the weekend.

As much as I loved traveling to see all of my favorite people, I'm ready to have my next few weekends in Chicago! I am only here for a year, so I must spend as much time as I can exploring here! This weekend is the start of Halloween celebrations :)
